Goto city is full of attractions,from spectacular views of islands floating in the sea to historical and cultural heritage sites. In 2015, Goto city was recognized as a Japanese Heritage Site under the title “Border Islands Iki, Tsushima and Goto ~The Ancient Bridge to the Continent~”.In 2018,it was designated a World Cultural Heritage Site as “Hidden Christian Heritage in the Nagasaki and Amakusa Regions”.In 2021,it was recognized as a Japanese Geopark under the name “Goto Islands Geopark”. Clouds over Goto Yamamoto Nizo Art Museum is a popular attraction where visitors can immerse themselves in the artistic world of Nizo Yamamoto,a native of Goto City,art director or Studio Ghibli classics including "Princess Mononoke".
