Ube City is the hometown of Hideaki Anno, the general director of the "EVANGELION" series.
Since JR Ube-Shinkawa Station appeared as one of the model locations in "EVANGELION: 3.0+1.0 THRICE UPON A TIME", we have been holding the "EVANGELION All Over the Ube city" event since 2021, allowing visitors to experience the world of "EVANGELION" throughout the city.
In 2025, the winning entry from the "EVANGELION" tribute sculpture design contest, held as part of the fourth installment of the event, will be brought to life and installed in the city as a new "EVANGELION All Over the Ube city" spot, following the Spear of Longinus.
